Look like a Genius with Keyboard Shortcuts

Wednesday, February 20th, 2013

KBcoversLogoProfessional video editors, Photoshop experts and CAD operators all know that the secret to mastery of a complex application is not to be found mousing around through stacks of menu items, right and left clicking and remembering where the menu choices have been relocated from version to version. Power users know that keyboard shortcuts – where your hands never leave the keyboard and the app becomes an extension of your mind is where real productivity is found. KBCovers helps you move to that keyboard genius level in a quick and easy step, with overlays for Apple notebooks and keyboards. As you begin by typing slowly, you will learn the shortcuts and your speed will increase quickly and smoothly. The covers offer protection and embedded product keyboard shortcuts for many professional apps, in addition to special editions for the visually impaired or those who must operate in low light situations, such as nightclub DJ’s and lighting. Both US and ISO keyboards are available in the $30-$40 range. TPN Interview by Andy McCaskey, SDRNews and Scott Ertz, F5 Live: Refreshing Technology .

MSI Brings Dragon Edition to CES 2013

Friday, December 7th, 2012

MSI Computer Corp designs, manufactures, and markets awesome computers, laptops, notebooks, mainboards, graphics cards, and more. As a gamer, I’d consider MSI next time I’m in the market for a great “gaming machine”. They recently released their GX60 which is gaming notebook that has a SteelSeries gaming keyboard.

You can check out MSI at CES 2013. The MSI suites will be located in the Aria Resort & Casino. They will be showcasing some of their award-winning solutions, including some that are CES Innovations 2013 Design and Engineering Award Honorees. Both the GTX 680 Lightning video card and their limited edition GT70 Dragon Edition are Honorees.

Mionix Rage-Proof Keyboards, Precision Mousepad

Saturday, February 11th, 2012

We found a company called Mionix at Showstoppers during CES. They were showing off the Mionix Disciple 60, as well as a mouse pad that gives you more precise movements.

The keyboard is the Mionix Deciple 60. It has mechanical switches and a steel plate on it. Keys can be removed so it can be re-configured for MMO gaming. It lasts 50 million keystrokes. It’s thicker cable also brings USB and audio jacks to the back of your keyboard.

The NAOS mouse is also an ergonomic mouse that can do 128 dpsi recognition. However, your surface might be the bigger issue.

The mouse comes with software that can tell you how your mouse is fairing on the surface. Mionix does sell what they call the “World’s Best Mousepad”. This is perfect for gamers or artists that need that precision movement.

The Desciple is $149.99 – $79.99 – and the World’s best mousepad is $49.99.

KBCovers: Secret Weapon for Creative Types

Friday, February 10th, 2012

The Need for Speed

Mousing around is one of the not-so-secret productivity killers, stealing time from creative types around the world. Keyboard shortcuts allow you to keep your fingers in motion – but unless you excel in the game “Missing MatchUps” with your kids, it’s hard to remember hundreds of combinations. And they are all standard patterns, except when they aren’t – like between every applications that you need to use on your project.

KBCovers offers a full range of apps. In both US and European keyboards, for video and photo editing, the covers are made of ultra thin silicone, and offer full color coding to help you learn and remember the shortcuts for your daily use.

Keyboard covers – You need one!

Saturday, January 22nd, 2011

Keyboard covers, why do you need it?

In case you spill food and liquids on your keyboard?  Sure, but that is NOT why you are going to want the best quality keyboard covers on the market from KB Covers.  You want these covers because they give you all the shortcuts for professional programs such as Final Cut Pro, Aperture, After Effects etc.

I own FOUR of them.  I was so impressed that I ended up ordering them the same day I did this interview with the KB Covers team on the floor at CES.  I especially like the cover that shows all the typical Apple iOS shortcuts.  I am buying a stack of them to give to some of my friends who recently bought their first Macbook.  What better way to learn the new operating system while protecting your laptop from accidental Lattés at the same time?

These keyboard covers are made for Apple products, so PC lovers will have to wait and see if a PC line is on the move.

If you are a touch typist (or working on it) you can get a cover that hides the print on your keys, which is a fantastic way to accelerate your typing skills.  I have been using blank keyboards for years because it keeps my typing skills up to code and it makes it easier when you switch between different languages since the print on the keys only match one language.

3 months ago, I bought a silicone keyboard cover in the Apple store and I hated it.  I don’t remember what brand it was but I threw it away after only two days.  It felt icky and it made it difficult to type.  I have been using the covers from KB Covers for two weeks and I love them.  I bought the covers for the Macbook Pro Unibody, which has the added bonus of also fitting perfectly the small wireless keyboard from Apple.

Check them out!  This is one product I can personally vouch for.
