In June, IPv6 was turned on with many providers. Some of the top content is IPv6 enabled. Mobile phone data is IPv6 enabled – which are individual IP addresses. These phones are also backwards compatible.

Comcast is rolling out IPv6 (for example). If you are using an IPv6 device on the system you can turn it on and see your device run faster.

The Vertix hardware comes in a couple of different styles so that it can be used with both full-face and open-face helmets. Both the speaker and microphone can be easily mounted to almost any helmet. In fact, they claim an installation time of only minutes. The buttons can easily be tapped while riding to allow communication with other riders in your group or access to a cell phone. The units can paired with a group of up the three riders, and of course between rider and passenger as well. The published range for communication is 500 meters, but Vertix claims it can sometimes reach up to 1 km. One final feature, a handlebar-mounted remote control will be coming out soon. Partnered with Proctor and Gamble, Duracell is perhaps the first to tackle this market, and they are in it in a big way with lots of expansion plans. Your phone won’t just magically charge by being present in a location, though. There will be Powermat stations available in locations where you will likely spend an extended period of time, like coffee shops, bars, and the like. They also plan a Google Maps app that will show you charging locations in your area. In fact, eventually they envision the Powermat technology built right into new devices with no case necessary.

We walk through the process of getting the songs. The new photobooth option lets you create memories for your friends. The photobooth takes 6 pictures, which you choose four. You add filters and frames, type in your email address and your pictures are sent.

The Touchtunes jukebox also has a Karaoke feature. Find the song, grab a microphone and start singing. You can also download an application, then plug songs into your favorite jukebox through the mobile device.

Touchtunes is part of the Verizon innovation program. This juke is available now, with photobooth and karaoke in the future.

Motorola, Sharp, Energizer, LG and Samsung join the list of over 80 companies that will allow interoperability across their devices and chargers, which will allow consumers to charge essentially any compatible device (with the option to retrofit) on their desk, in their office or even in their car, because at the end of the day, it’s all about convenience.

The idea for wireless charging doesn’t only extend to the phone sector. All mobility is looking to get some love as tablets and laptops can also be made to do the same thing. You can purchase an adapter module, bolt it under a table and you have wireless charging whereever you want it. Imagine setting a blender on a spot in your kitchen and it charges with no wires. Then, using the same spot on your induction range compatible top, cooking with a pan that can go from boiling to simmering using autonomous functions. For the ladies, you could have a designer bag with charging capabilities so your phone doesn’t have to be taken out to plug it in.

While there are a number of AirPlay devices on the market, Acoustic Research hopes to separate themselves from the group by, not only their famous name, but also with quality and pricing. Users will be able to tether multiple players together so that they can have them in separate rooms, creating a whole-house audio system.

Privacy Star allows you to block numbers from annoying pollsters and solicitors, and if they get really obnoxious, report them to the Federal Trade Commission.  Similar calls from bill collectors including date, time and frequency are logged for action.

There’s also an optional Do Not Disturb mode, which forwards all non blocked incoming calls to voicemail with the option to send a custom text message acknowledging the call.

It come with two hulls one for in home use and one for outdoor use. It is built to take some crashes, but if something breaks you can get replacement parts are on-line. The AR. Drone Mark 2 should be available according to Peter George of Parrot in the second quarter of 2012 for about $299.00

Once you are finished playing with the AR. Drone Mark 2, you may want to relax with a little music and some quiet time, well Parrot has you covered there too. They are introducing a pair of stereo cordless headsets that are noise canceling called the Parrot Zik . They work over either Bluetooth or the included cord. They run on a chargeable battery and give about 5 hours of listening pleasure. Once the battery runs down you can continue listening by connecting the cord. What makes the Parrot Zik headphones stand out besides the great style by French designer Philippe Starck are the controls on the headphones. There is a sensitive touchpad on the headphone which allows you to skip back and forth thru tracks by swiping right or left and control volume by swiping up and down. The headphones fold down flat to fit into a small carrying case. There is no price or launch date at this time, but they should be available sometime in 2012 at various retailers. All together Parrot introduced seven new products at CES 2012, including three additional products in the car environment and the asteroid marketplace. Recon Instruments shows Todd their heads up display for skiers, snowboarders and alpine sport enthusiasts. The display will give you a “dashboard” type display inside of your goggles that tells you speed, altitude, distance traveled, height of your jump and a whole lot more. It even gives you GPS data and with the Android powered version will allow other apps. It will even give you caller ID for an incoming call so you can decide if it’s worth stopping and answering the phone. It will, however, not let you text, make calls or answer calls while skiing. (And you thought driving while texting was a problem). The unit is installed in the goggles and is controlled by a bluetooth remote that can be worn just about anywhere on your body and is very tough.

The android version is $399 and the Non-Android version is $299.

As with all things these days, the Tahoma system is connected to the Internet via the homeowner’s Wifi, meaning that the owner can connect via a web browser back to the system to make any changes that might be needed, say, because of changes in the weather.

The underlying technology is the Z-Wave RF home automation wireless standard, so upgrading a home to for automation doesn’t involving lots of recabling. It’s simply a case of replacing the controllers with Z-Wave-compatible ones.

Todd spoke to Jason Williams from Yale Locks about their newest locks called Yale Real Living. They are introducing two models, a less expensive keypad model and a acrylic touchscreen model. The touchscreen model is activated by swiping your hand across the screen, Then you input your code and your information is sent to the Control4 system. Based on how the system is setup for your code; you could have the lights come on, turn your TV on, wakeup your computer or anything else that is integrated into the system. Each person can have their own code and can set the system the way they want. You can program it for up to 250 users.

It can be used for both internal and external doors. Jason Williams indicated the system can send you text messages or an email from pre-programmed alerts if you want. You can set it to remotely lock and unlock doors from any web-enabled device. Even program user access by date and time. It is highly customizable and very secure.

The BODYMEDIA Activity Manager captures your statistics in real-time as well as your sleeping habits.
