Tech Podcast Network CES 2017 Coverage to Eliminate Live Broadcast Studio

For 12 years the Tech Podcast Network has covered CES, and the past five years we’ve had a live broadcast studio outside of North Hall for CES vendors to show off their latest consumer electronics. We are proud that each year we’ve produced 40 hours of live content, reaching more than 500,000 consumers.

Our post-show interviews rack up over 30 million consumer views yearly, and last year resulted in more than $10 million in product purchases from our loyal audience. That said, times are changing and as a team we have decided to forgo the incredible expense of our mobile broadcast studio for several reasons.

While we respect our friends in public relations, the past few years we’ve seen a decline in being able to have direct access to vendors. This has significantly affected our access to vendors post-show and their come to market products and post show interviews. The way in which PR teams act as gatekeepers to vendors has reduced the long-term value of our live coverage and most importantly, hindered the ability to develop deeper relationships and partnerships that often led to podcast sponsorship’s that support our involvement in the industry.

This year we will have five floor teams that will be conducting recorded interviews, and live streaming from select vendors on the show floor. We will revert to only doing interviews in booths with company leads. Unfortunately, discontinuing the broadcast studio eliminates about 120 of the 250 interview opportunities we typically conduct at the show.

But rest assured our floor teams will be seeking out the top innovative products and under reported gems. We encourage you to share your announcements about new product offerings as soon as possible. We agree to all embargoes. And please be aware that if we do not have your press releases and supporting artwork in before 12-31, the opportunity for written coverage on our team blogs by our teams during the show is greatly diminished.

Finally, we do have some exclusive sponsor opportunities available to vendors that want to reach the 32 million consumers that will seek out our CES 2017 show content. Please contact geeknews@gmail.com for more information on our sponsorship’s.

We look forward to discovering your innovative products at the show.
Thank you, the Tech Podcast Network team.
